Teacher Notes
Expected Task 1 Overview
Renewable electricity increased in all four countries between 2010 and 2020. Sweden had the highest proportion in both years, while France remained the lowest. Germany showed the largest overall rise, although it still did not overtake Spain or Sweden by 2020.
Expected Task 2 Coverage
A strong essay should discuss both sides: the value of personal choice and academic freedom, and the practical argument for subjects linked to future employment and economic needs. The student must give a clear personal opinion.
Common Task 1 Problems
Weak answers often list every number without a clear overview, make no comparisons, or describe reasons for the data even though the chart does not provide causes.
Common Task 2 Problems
Weak answers often discuss only one view, give an unclear opinion, use memorised phrases, or provide examples that are too general.
